Important Special
Congregational meeting
The First Congregational UCC of Mountain
Home will hold a congregational meeting immediately after worship on
Sunday, June 13. The purpose of the meeting is to approve the
construction of two handicapped accessible bathrooms.
The Trustees have recommended to Council that the church
construct two unisex, handicap accessible bathrooms on the west end of
the Fellowship Hall. The new bathrooms will cost approximately
$33,200.00. Funds to pay for the new facilities will come from
donations, and the Walborn and Building Funds |
Because the cost of the new
bathrooms far exceeds the Trustee’s discretionary spending authority,
approval for this construction must come from the congregation.
Usually the call for a
congregational meeting comes from the Council. However, the Council did
not have a quorum at its May meeting. Under First Congregational
Church’s constitution and by-laws the pastor is given authority to call
a congregational meeting. Because we would like to get started on this
project, and have it finished before we begin the busy
Thanksgiving-Christmas period, with the concurrence of the members of
Council present, Truman Parker has used his pastoral authority to call
this meeting.
Please plan to be present at
this meeting.

Join us for our monthly potluck luncheon
on Sunday, June 20th (Father’s Day) following our
10:00 am worship service. Everyone is invited to attend and celebrate this
special day together.
Please bring something delicious to share
and join us after church for fabulous food, fun and fellowship!
